Bangalore Institute of Dental Sciences was established in 1991 under the leadership of Mr.
K. Subba Rao, Chairman, Vignan Educational Foundation. The college grew steadily through
the 1990s, and the first batch of students passed out on November 8, 1995, the same year
that the Dental Council of India recognized the institution.
Over time, BIDS expanded beyond undergraduate teaching into postgraduate education, first
